ANNOUNCEMENTS
PIZZA NIGHT Wednesday 26 August Our final community pizza night of the summer is on Wednesday. We expected the July pizza night to be quieter but were amazed by the support from the community – over 250 pizzas cooked. Apologies to all our helpers who went home hungry! We are aiming for bigger and better this time and pizza for all – but we need your help again to achieve this. Please contact Allison or me if you can help in any way between 4.15 and 8.15, the more volunteers we have, the lighter the load. Thank you!

ELECTION OF ELDERS: Autumn 2026
In preparation for the election of elders, we are required under para 100 of the Code to produce a list of qualified voters. So as a first step in that process, the draft list of qualified voters will be published in the Vestibule over the next 2 Sundays (30 August and 6 September). Any objections to the draft list require to be lodged in writing with the Minister within 7 days of the first publication of the list – that is by 6 September.
CALLING ALL SINGERS
Choir Practice will start on Thursday 10 September at 7.00 pm.
If you love to sing, we would love for you to come along and be part of our Harvest Choir, this practice will be from 7.00-7.30pm.
Please speak to Deirdre for more information.
ALPHA at Newtownbreda
Our in-house Alpha course commences on Sunday 20 September at 6.30pm and runs for 8 weeks. Alpha is for everyone and offers an opportunity to explore the Christian faith in an open, friendly environment.
Do plan to come along, even if you can’t come to every session. Invite a friend, neighbour or family member. Invitation cards in English and Chinese are available at the back of the church. You can sign up on ChurchSuite or give your name to Allison Meek or Raymond McNeill.
SAFEGUARDING and GOVERNANCE REVIEW
In March the INEQE Safeguarding Group was commissioned to conduct an independent review of the governance and safeguarding arrangements in the PCI. Listening to and learning from individuals involved in the life, work and ministry of our church is an important element of this.
Part of the review exercise is being undertaken through a number of online surveys. They have been produced by INEQE, and the Church centrally is strongly encouraging the widest possible participation from across our denomination.
To access the surveys please scan the QR code or use the following link https://ineqe.com/presbyterian-church-in-ireland.
There are different surveys depending on your relationship with the Church and we ask that you complete all the surveys relevant to you. Please consider taking part and engaging with this important process, and please also be aware that all contributions are anonymous and are submitted directly to INEQE (not to PCI). All contributions will be treated confidentially. The online surveys are now live, and will close on 21 September 2026.
If you would like to have a notice included in the announcement sheet, please email NewtownbredaAnnouncements@outlook.com by the Thursday prior to the Sunday service.
