Kingdom Builders: A Joy-Filled Week of Faith and Fun

Kingdom Builders: A Joy-Filled Week of Faith and Fun

This summer, we welcomed around 50 primary school-aged children for four action-packed mornings of games, crafts, stories, and discovery at our Holiday Bible Club — Kingdom Builders.

Each day was filled with laughter, creativity, and the chance to explore the stories Jesus told about the Kingdom of God. Together, we decorated plant pots to reflect how God’s Kingdom grows from the smallest of seeds — just like in the parable of the mustard seed. We also made bread as we learned how the Kingdom works quietly but powerfully, like yeast in dough.

The children spent time learning memory verses to help them carry the stories home — and it was wonderful to see how quickly they took those words to heart. We also learned to sign our names and our Holiday Bible Club song, “The Kingdom of God”, adding movement and meaning to our music.

One of the highlights was painting a colourful banner in the style of a stained glass cross — a beautiful reminder of the week’s message and a lasting gift for the church community.

We ended the week with a joyful family service on Sunday, where children shared what they’d been learning, and parents and carers were invited to join the celebration. And, of course, no summer gathering would be complete without a visit from the ice-cream van — a sweet ending to a week full of meaning, energy, and joy.

A huge thank you to all the volunteers, leaders, and families who helped make Kingdom Builders such a success. We loved every minute — and we’re already looking forward to next year!
