AFTER CHURCH COFFEE

A big thank you to all of our volunteers who have helped over the last couple of months to provide refreshments after the morning services. As January approaches, we are looking for volunteers to help us continue this provision on a Sunday morning. It would be great to see new volunteers coming forward to assist in any capacity. Whether you want to do it with a family member, a friend, an organisation within the Church or just assist someone else, please do sign up.

The new rota can be found on the Church noticeboard within the Foyer. For any questions, please contact Margaret Robinson at 07714 721748 or robinson.margaret61@gmail.com.

Dates for your diary:

Refreshments will be served by the Rainbows after church on Sunday 17 November, and by the PW on Sunday 26 November.

Please do support our organisations if possible.

CHRISTIAN AID Creating Light  an evening of Christmas crafts and cooking.

Join with us and celebrate the impact of Christian Aid’s work in Bangladesh.

Date: Thursday 30 November at 7.00 pm
Location: First Bangor Presbyterian Church

You’ll hear about our work with a group of determined young women in northern Bangladesh changing their lives, and the lives of other women in their communities. Our guest artisans will then help you to learn the traditional crafts and skills these women are using to create brighter futures – from bead work, to embroidery, to growing kitchen gardens.

During the evening, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Make a beaded bracelet with Lynsey from Sassy Beads.
  • Create an embroidered felt Christmas decoration with Suzanne from Nice Threads.
  • The evening will then finish with a delicious, Christmas-inspired cookery demonstration by Mollie from Ballytrim Pantry, which of course you’ll get to sample!

Thursday 30 November will be a wonderful evening, shining a light on these incredible young Bangladeshi women whose creativity is helping to lead their communities out of poverty this Christmas.

Purchase tickets on Eventbrite.  If you would like to go to this event and have difficulty purchasing a ticket through Eventbrite and /or need a lift please speak to Jennifer.
