ART EXHIBITION, SALE and FESTIVAL 18-21 June 2026

A Week of Art, Creativity and Faith – in the week commencing Monday 15 June, St John’s will welcome back our popular Art Exhibition. Almost 300 works of art in a variety of media – oil, watercolour, acrylic, pastel etc – will be displayed in a show which has become a well-established and enjoyable local community event.

The exhibition and sale will be open to the public on Thursday 18 and Friday 19 June from 2.00-8.30pm and on Saturday 20 from 10.30am – 3.00pm. The entrance fee is £5, which includes a catalogue and refreshments.

This year we are extending our programme by combining it with several other creative and faith events. This will include a poetry evening (Friday 19), a poetry workshop (Saturday 20), a special Arts Service (Sunday morning 21) and an evening of contemplation in image and word, Visio Divina (Sunday evening 21). All these events are free and there will be something for everyone.

The official launch and Preview Evening of the Art Exhibition will be held on Wednesday 17 June at 7.00 pm with a reception and supper.  This Preview evening is very popular and tickets at £7.50 each will be on sale today.

As with all major Church events, we need volunteers to help with the many tasks involved during the week, such as: receiving the artwork, welcoming visitors, stewarding the hall, and dealing with sales etc.

Please consider giving a little of your time during the week of the Exhibition.  It is a great way to get to know people. If you would like to help, please speak to Marj or Hazel at tea/coffee after Church.

To introduce it to our neighbours, we have again produced publicity flyers.

We need your help to deliver these flyers: bundles have been made up for the streets around the church, if you’re willing to help please collect one or more and deliver them.

We would really like to welcome as many people as possible from our community to ensure the continued success of this event.
