ANNOUNCEMENTS

Sunday School and Bible Class

Hope you all had a great summer. Really looking forward to hearing about what you have got up to. Just a reminder that Sunday school starts today 3 September and Junior Bible class on 17 September!

September Newsletter
Could I please have articles/photos/dates for the calendar for the next newsletter by Wednesday morning latest? As this is the start of autumn activities for organisations it would be good to have an article on your upcoming programmes.
Thank you, Marj (Marjorieguiler@gmail.com)

The CHOIR will be starting practices again on Thursday 7 September at 7.00 pm in the Megaw Room. We would love to have new members. You can be assured of a very warm welcome and an enjoyable time making music, serving our congregation. For any more information please speak to Deidre, Raymond, Barbara or any member of the choir. We look forward to seeing some new members.

CARERS & TOTS – call for Volunteers.

We’re very grateful that our Carers & Tots group has grown so well over the last year. However, this means we need a few more people to join our wonderful team of helpers on Tuesday mornings (10.00 am-12.00 noon). All we ask is one morning per month. There are different ways to help, so we can find a role that suits you. If you’re interested in joining our team or have any questions, please chat with Sandy (mobile: 07841 908198). Thank you!

VOLUNTEERS required

If you can help serve tea and coffee after church, please sign up on the rota sheet on the notice board in the foyer or contact Margaret Robinson 07714 721748.

We urgently need volunteers for Coffee & Chat on Friday mornings. If you can help, please speak to Barbara McNeill. Your help would be very much appreciated.

The Congregational Committee will meet at 7.45 pm in the Megaw Room on Tuesday 12 September.

Our English classes for asylum seekers and refugees restart on 12 and 13 September.  As a pilot we will be offering a Wednesday morning class as well. If you do have any spare A4 ring folders or A4 blocks of paper- we can always put these to good use by giving them to our students!!

AUTUMN FÊTE – in FOUR weeks time – Saturday 30 Sept 2023
Please give us (the organising committee) your donations. We need them NOW and they can be left on the St John’s Hall stage (behind the curtain) or contact Christine McGibbon (07742 576995) if you would like anything to be collected from your or anyone else’s home.
As a guide, the St John’s Halls stalls are Books, Toys, a Christmas stall, Household / Bric-a-brac, Small items of home furnishing, Home Produce and Cosmetics / Jewellery. (NB: If you have any “broken gold” jewellery / links, we can exchange these for cash.) Donations for the Home Produce stall eg. Jams, chutneys, honey, cakes, buns, scones and bread loaves would all be appreciated.
