We often end our opening prayer by saying the Lord’s Prayer together.
Please join us in whatever version or language is most familiar to you.
Our Father, who is in heaven,
hallowed be your name;
your kingdom come;
your will be done;
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation;
but deliver us from evil.
For yours is the kingdom,
the power and the glory,
for ever and ever.
Amen

In the event of a pastoral emergency during this time, please contact Rev Corrina Herron.
CHURCHSUITE I have invited our newest members to call into the office after church today to update their record on ChurchSuite – but this invitation is for anyone who has forgotten how to access their details or who would like to know more about ChurchSuite and/or how to donate to the church. Grab a cup of coffee and join us in the church office. Marj
MESSY CHURCH is on today from 3-4pm. How can making slime teach us about self-control? Come along and find out 🙂 We’ll be thinking about the fruit of the Spirit and have some fun challenges and activities to explore gentleness and self-control.
MAY NEWSLETTER If you would like to share any news, photographs or announcements with your church family in the May newsletter. could I please have them by Tuesday morning 28 April latest? Marj (Marjorieguiler@gmail.com)
The BELFAST CITY MARATHON is taking place Sunday 3 May. Several Church members will be taking part to raise funds for some local charities. For example, Rebecca McKersie, Matthew Breen and Noel Breen are each running the full marathon distance of 26.2 miles, supporting The Friends of the Cancer Centre, Action Cancer and Marie Curie respectively.
We are aware that additional Church members will also be running for charity, either individually or as members of relay teams. If you are planning to take part, please let us know and which charity you are supporting. We would love to have a full list of participants and charities for next Sunday’s announcements.
Please consider making a donation to any of our runners in support of some extremely deserving causes.
AUCTION OF PROMISES Friday 15 May 7:00 pm
We invite you to share your talents, skills or resources to support Christian Aid.
If you have a particular ability or asset that could benefit others, please consider offering your support. Some suggested ways you could help; gardening, babysitting, providing a casserole/meal, baking, providing transport or taking someone on an outing.
If you are willing to offer your assistance in any of these areas, or have another idea to contribute, please speak to Jennifer Cairnduff, Helen Pallin or Noel Breen.
ANNUAL CHURCH FȆTE Saturday 26 September 2026 – SAVE THE DATE
Time to clear out, Spring clean and think about what you can donate to the fête. We are asking you to ‘clear out your clutter’ and donate preloved items to the church fête. The annual fête hosts stalls with lots of preloved items, books, ornaments, crystal, bric-a-brac goods, toys, games, jigsaws, jewellery, unopened cosmetics, seasonal decorations, indoor and outdoor furniture items and the list goes on and on. So please use this as an opportunity to declutter the house, the roof space, the garage and the garden shed.
If you have any items that you think would be suitable and need help in getting these to church, please let Heather or Ausin know. Alternatively, you can leave items on the stage in the St John’s Hall.
We are also hoping for a good team of volunteers to help with the many aspects of the day. Whether you can help donate goods, make jam or cakes, assist with set up, help on the day…. the opportunities are wide and varied.
Let your friends, family, neighbours and work colleagues know of the opportunity to donate goods and within reason, we can accept most items, even small items of furniture. We can’t accept electrical goods. More information will be issued nearer the time but please put the date in your diary and it will be a great opportunity to meet up and spend time with friends.
Thank you, Heather & Austin
GARDENING and CARE of CHURCH GROUNDS
If you are prepared to help with keeping the Church grounds neat and tidy over the summer months by coming along for a couple of hours on 2 or 3 evenings between April and September (usually Mondays but depends on the weather), please speak to William Francey or contact him on 07577 605747. We have a very small team of loyal gardeners but additional volunteers are always welcomed. You don’t have to be Alan Titchmarsh or have any special expertise – the ability to walk behind a lawnmower or pull some weeds is all that is required.
If you would like to have a notice included in the announcement sheet, please email NewtownbredaAnnouncements@outlook.com
Please try to send your announcements to us by the Thursday prior to the Sunday service.
