Funeral arrangements for Eric Murdock

Tues 16 May at 9:45am in Ravenhill Funeral Home, 334 Ravenhill Road, followed by committal in Knockbreda Cemetery at 11.00am. Refreshments to follow at the Ivanhoe.



Christian Aid have requested a photograph of Newtownbreda volunteers.

Would all those who are helping with Christian Aid events in any way please meet at the front of the church immediately after the service today for a photograph to be taken.

Sunday 21 May                                                                     Soup, bread and cheese lunch

Please come and join us for pea soup (there will also be other soup available) and some bread and cheese.

My thanks to everyone who is helping in any way during a big week in our church calendar. The pigeon pea farmers in Malawi will be forever grateful for your enthusiasm.


Art Exhibition in St Bernadette’s

An Art Exhibition by Sister Anne Kilroy will be held in St. Bernadette’s Parish Hall, Rosetta Road, with all proceeds going to the St. Vincent de Paul charity.

Open: today Sun 14 May: 10.00am-2.00pm; Mon May 15: 10.00am-12 noon.


Messy Church

Messy Church is on next week 21 May.  We have a fun line up of activities and games (including for teens and adults) as we spend time together and learn about the Holy Spirit and Pentecost. We’ll finish off with freshly-made pizzas. Please invite friends and family and join us.


Congregational Committee

The Congregational Committee will meet in the Megaw Room at 7.45 pm on Tuesday 23 May.


Koinonia Outing to Down County Museum

Stress Buster/Resilience Workshop – Online via Zoom

Coffee & Chat

Coffee & Chat meets on Friday mornings in the Foyer. More help is required, so please consider signing up by speaking to Barbara McNeill or sign the rota on the notice board in the Foyer. Thanks for your much needed help Barbara


Pizza Nights

We are planning to resume our community Pizza Nights once a month over the summer but volunteers are needed. We will have a trial run of pizza making for Messy Church on Sunday 21 May so please come along and see what is involved.

Children’s Church

We hope to run Children’s Church in place of Sunday School over the summer months, starting on Sunday 18 June but volunteers are needed. If you would be willing to help with Children’s Church on one or two Sundays, please contact Clare Pollock 07788 668144 or Allison Meek 07890 750485.


Holiday Bible Club

We’re grateful for those who have offered to help from the 3-7 July with our Holiday Bible Club, but we still need some more helpers. There will be different tasks, from helping with snacks and juice to setting up for crafts/games or helping with a small group of children. There will be plenty of support in whichever role you’d like to sign up for. We’d love to have you on our team. Please speak to Allison, Marj or Sandy.


Sunday School Plant Sale

A special thank you goes to the Sunday School children and leaders for their very successful plant sale last Sunday. They raised a very impressive sum of £120 for Christian Aid.
