ANNOUNCEMENTS
SUNDAY SCHOOL & BIBLE CLASS
Hope you all had a great summer. Just a reminder that Sunday School has started back and Junior Bible Class will begin again next Sunday on 17 September.
The Congregational Committee will meet at 7.45 pm in the Megaw Room on Tuesday 12 September.
Our English classes for asylum seekers and refugees restart on Tuesday 12 September from 6.00-7.30 pm. New volunteers for Tuesdays are very welcome: to help serve food, help with homework, play games with children, clear up or teach English. Many thanks. Please speak to Sandy or Janet.
A new morning class will start on Wednesday 20 September from 10.30 am -12.00 noon. Please note this is a week later.
KEY HOLDER SURVEY
We are attempting to bring our records up to date and we request that anyone who holds keys to any part of the church premises please contact Scott Guiler, ideally in person with your keys present. (07833 707229)
If you think you had keys and have misplaced them this information would also be useful.
We are interested in anything from master keys to cupboard keys.
AUTUMN FÊTE – in THREE weeks time – Saturday 30 Sept 2023
Please give us (the organising committee) your donations. We need them NOW and they can be left on the St John’s Hall stage (behind the curtain) or contact Christine McGibbon (07742 576995) if you would like anything to be collected from your or anyone else’s home.
As a guide, the St John’s Halls stalls are Books, Toys, a Christmas stall, Household / Bric-a-brac, Small items of home furnishing, Home Produce and Cosmetics / Jewellery.
(NB: If you have any “broken gold” jewellery / links, we can exchange these for cash.) Donations for the Home Produce stall eg. Jams, chutneys, honey, cakes, buns, scones and bread loaves would all be appreciated.
Sorry, we CANNOT accept electrical goods, large furniture, DVDs / CDs or clothes.
AUTUMN FÊTE TEAS
We are looking for volunteers to provide traybakes/buns for our afternoon teas.
If you can help please contact Janet or any member of the catering committee during coffee today and over the next few Sundays.
There will also be a sign-up sheet on the noticeboard in the foyer. Many thanks.
LAST BUT NOT LEAST, we need YOU, your friends, family, neighbours and visitors.
The Fête is a COMMUNITY event – please tell others, support us and have fun on the day …whether in the hall, having afternoon tea, buying plants or enjoying the outdoor activities with the children. ALL ARE WELCOME.
CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS
We’re very grateful that our Carers & Tots group has grown so well over the last year. However, this means we need a few more people to join our wonderful team of helpers on Tuesday mornings (10.00 am-12.00 noon). All we ask is one morning per month. There are different ways to help, so we can find a role that suits you. If you’re interested in joining our team or have any questions, please chat with Sandy (mobile: 07841 908198). Thank you!
If you can help serve tea and coffee after church, please sign up on the rota sheet on the notice board in the foyer or contact Margaret Robinson 07714 721748.
We urgently need volunteers for Coffee & Chat on Friday mornings. If you can help, please speak to Barbara McNeill. Your help would be very much appreciated.
If you would like to have a notice included in the announcement sheet, please email NewtownbredaAnnouncements@outlook.com
Please try to send your announcements to us by the Thursday prior to the Sunday service.
