Announcements: 14th March 2010

 

 

7.00pm Worship in the Foyer, led by Mr Orr.

 

8.00-10.00pm Focus. tonight we will be continuing our theme looking at Daniel’s life ‘Remaining Faithful’. Also preparing for ‘St John’s Got Talent’. Discussions, coffee, games and going deeper with God.

 


 

Monday 15th March

7.45pm PW: an evening of Irish Craic with the Lilting Banshees in the Rosetta Hall. Everyone welcome.

 

Wednesday 17th March

No Pins and Needles this week.

No Wacky Weds this week because of St Patrick’s Day.

There will be no Minister’s Office Hour this week.

 

Thursday 18th March

11.00am Koinonia ‘Engage with Age’ speaker Mrs Theresa McVeigh.

Coffee and tea will be served from 10.30am in the Megaw Room.

 

7.30-9.00pm Connect (a new organisation for 11-14 year olds) Are you coming to the end of the week and looking for somewhere to hang out with mates, go deeper with God and chill out with games, coffee and loads more? Then come to Connect on Thursday nights. Cya then!

 

Friday 19th March

2.00pm WANTED - the ‘usual suspects’ and new volunteers to assemble the

Chronicle for an hour or so, the reward being a bit of craic, coffee and biscuits .

 

4.00-6.30pm OurSpace: come for games, footy, chat and a great atmosphere.

 

7.30pm in the Spires Centre, Church House ‘Spring Fever’, a concert by the British Columbia Regiment Pipes and Drums, the Royal Irish Regiment Band and Bangor Ladies Choir. This is in aid of the Army Benevolent Fund. Further details on the Foyer notice board.

 

Saturday 20th March

10am - 1.00pm Koinonia is organising a sale in the Rosetta Hall, proceeds to the Halls Redevelopment fund. Clothes, books, home baking, jams, chutneys and bric-a-brac may be delivered to the hall on Friday 19th between 7.00pm and 9.00pm or from 9.00am on Saturday morning. It will be appreciated if unsold bric-a-brac is removed by donors after the sale. Posters available in the Foyer for distribution around the local area.

Sunday 21st March

7.00pm a United Presbytery Service will be held in Fisherwick Presbyterian Church. Details can be found on the Foyer notice board. There will be no evening service in Newtownbreda on that date.

 

Tuesday 23rd March

7.00pm Finance Committee meeting in the Office.

 

8.15pm Congregational Committee meeting in the Megaw Room.

PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF DAY.

 

7.45-9.30pm ‘Seize the Moment’ Missionaries from overseas will speak to us at a Celebration of Global Mission in Banbridge Road Dromore Presbyterian Church. Further details on the Foyer notice board.

 

Friday 26th March

8.00pm PW Concert: come and enjoy an evening of Music and Fun with the Route Singers (Ballymoney & area). £8 subscription for PW Missions at home and abroad.

 

Saturday 27th March

St John’s Has Talent: for all prospective acts who have not returned the form giving information on equipment, facilities etc. that will be needed: Pete will be away this Sunday morning so please leave a note under his office door or email him on youthworker@newtownbreda.org

 

Wednesday 31st March

1.00pm - 5.00pm St Jude’s and Newtownbreda are holding a joint Wacky Day for all in P1-P7 with games, drama and craft! Sign-up information will be in next week’s announcements.

 

Gratitude is expressed to those who attended the recent AGM and gave generous donations towards the cost of the evening. Expenses were more than covered, and the surplus was contributed to church funds.

Death: Mrs Evelyn Connolly, recently of Towell House,

           died on Saturday 6th March.
